So, I took to the nets to gather some inspiration for the floors.
I've had my eye on this rug for quite some time. I especially fell in love when I saw the black/white goodness going on in this room.
But a certain man wasn't feeling it.
Perusing IKEA for some more inspiration, I came across this new lovely.
A flatwoven version in gray...
Or a plush one in blue...
And since I'm already , how about this
I'm loving the tribal meets chevron pattern in this one.
Perhaps something a bit more bohemian is necessary to counteract the modern sofa
More inspiration found while persuing flickr
I think I'm in love with this entire room
What are you looking forward to this fall?
XO,
Chelsea
i'm loving the bohemian one! i've been on the search for a rug for my living room too. originally i thought i wanted something really basic and neutral in color but i'm always drawn to the old old persian rugs with lots of reds/rusts... they just scream cozy in my opinion. unfortunately for me, they are way too expensive... so we (i) settled on a cheap gray and white modern rug from ikea that dan picked out. boo.
ReplyDeletei'm loving this cooler fall weather and hope it sticks around a while... but according to the weather channel, it wont.
enjoy the rest of your week pretty mama!
I like the tribal/chevron the best :) but for you I see something a bit brighter. Maybe something like this: http://chiccritique.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Moorish-Rug.jpg

Kass - I agree, I like the boho version best. but those persians can be pretty expensive! maybe I'll use my super-craigslisting skills and find one! I'm pretty impatient though and I'll probably go for something at IKEA - I do love their options!
ReplyDeleteAng - I think the chevron is my favorite too. I love the link you sent!! Would have to go for a different color though since we've got the bright orange couch ;)
Thanks for the comments you lovely ladies!!
still loving the black and white ikea rug....but the grass is always greener, isn't it? I used to deal in antiques and as a result, I have a house full of oriental rugs. Now I yearn for the clean, classic lines and lighter colors of the other rugs I see on the 'net......
ReplyDeleteIsn't that how it always goes....?
I love both the chevron rug (a refreshing departure from the more rigidly geometric ones that are popular)and the Oriental just below it.
